Is AI Taking Your Job? A Realistic Assessment

It's enough to make anyone anxious. But here's the thing: most of these headlines are designed to generate clicks, not to inform you. The reality is more nuanced — and more actionable.

Some jobs will be significantly impacted by AI. Some will be enhanced. Some will barely change. And yes, new jobs will emerge that we can't yet imagine.

The question isn't whether AI will affect your work. It almost certainly will. The question is: how, and what can you do about it?

High-Risk vs. Low-Risk Work

Higher risk:

  • Routine, repetitive tasks that follow clear patterns
  • Work that can be fully described in rules
  • Tasks where speed matters more than judgment
  • Work that doesn't require physical presence
  • Lower risk:

  • Work requiring genuine human connection and empathy
